Still, I feel compelled just now to yammer about various LJ & fandomy things. I actually went through and cleaned up some of my communities--unjoined from inactive ones or ones I haven't been paying any attention to.
Avatar: the Last Airbender - Oh yay! I had been waiting for the new season for it seems like forever and I was ridiculously excited to watch it (which I wasn't able to do until like Monday because I had guests for the weekend). Anyway, ♥. So nice just to see a new episode! And, man, Zuko & Iroh cutting of their topnot-thingies...I am ridiculously fond of that sort of thing.
I am not impressed with Zula yet, but I'm giving her more time--after all, it's only been one episode of actual facetime. I want to like her. I want there to be more awesome female characters in Avatar. So far she just feels very typical "bad girl" to me, though. Come on, Zula, be more awesome!
I also really really hope Suki shows up again eventually.
Mirrormask - When my friends were over for the weekend, I ended up buying this. It never came to any theatres remotely near me, so I basically just wanted to see it. Anyway, wow. So totally worth it. The story was great, but Dave McKean really went all out as far as making this whole movie just otherworldly and visually stunning. *♥s forever* I know a big part of the motivation behind this was to sort of make it the heir-apparent to Labyrinth. I don't really see that so much, to tell the truth. I mean, okay, they've got the Otherworld Quest thing in common, but I think they are very different from one another, in tone and everything. It reminded me more of The Storyteller, if we are going to make old school Jim Henson comparisons.
Anyway, just...guh. If you are a fan of Neil Gaiman or Dave McKean this is a definite must-see. If you aren't, you should still see it. I haven't delved into the special features yet, but there's a goodly amount of those too, including a Neil & Dave commentary track.
Mai-HiME - All the_firefly's fault! I'm up to episode seventeen now. Starting to get a bit worried. Also, am randomly feeling much more into the 'shippiness in this series than I usually do. No idea why. Trying to figure out who the other HiMEs are, too. Ha, this was very vague and nonsensical. I'll have more to say when I've finished watching it, I suppose.
I am randomly inspired to make an icon. It's one of those things I find hilarious, but that probably no one else will get. And if they do get it, they are automatically awarded 10,000 Awesome points. I just need to work up the motivation to take some screencaps for it. Ah, elusive motivation. Also need to finish my flashfic. Dang. How did the end of the month sneak up so fast? At least I've already got a good start on it.
Finally, memage. faemous tagged me, so...

|Literary:||Stephen King||I have a total love/hate relationship with him. He CAN be a good writer, but mostly he's just too lazy or something.|
|Audiovisual:||Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze||♪Go Ninja, Go Ninja. GO; Go Ninja, Go ninja, GO!♪ LOL! It just falls under that whole "so bad it's good" umbrella, I 'spose.|
|Musical:||ABBA||So cheesy and happy. Sometimes I just NEED to listen to them.|
|Celebrity:||Steve Irwin||He is insane and yet SO ENTERTAINING.|
Now I tag:- NO ONE! HA!
